From Cesena to the sky

From Cesena to the sky

All the beauty of a unique land

Romagna, between mountains, seaside and hills, art, food and wine, is nearly a miniature of the Beautiful Country; and the outskirts of Cesena are a perfect essay of this. In this one-day tour history, good food and the beautiful landscapes of the hinterland mix up, for a soothing break.
Cesena – Bertinoro – Longiano
  • A route you can take by car or riding your bike from Bellaria on. Cesena, with its city center to the man’s measure, is perfect to spend pleasant moments of relax and shopping; but it is above all its historic attractions that define it as a fully Malatestian city. First of all, the Biblioteca Malatestiana, the first civic library of Europe, which kept intact the building, the furniture and the books of the time when the monks sat in the dim light of its room. And then the Rocca Malatestiana, dominating the city from the top of a height covered with vegetation. The park and the inner courtyard are accessible, with museums and expositions inside.

But listen to the hinterland’s call; little far from Cesena you will find Bertinoro, the Romagna balcony, with its small and cozy center offering culinary excellences in the numerous restaurants and wineries. Just outside the town is situated Fattoria Paradiso, which in the 60es saved the native grapes Pagadebit Gentile and  Cagnina dal Peduncolo Rosso and today proposes visits and tastings

If  you start feeling tired, there is no better place to relax than the Terme della Fratta, a few km away from Bertinoro; a thermal spa with a relaxing pathway where to recharge your batteries before hitting the road again.

Cesena – Bertinoro – Longiano

The last stop is Longiano, pretty village with a fantastic theatre, Teatro Petrella of the 19th century, hosting the precious art collection of poet Tito Balestra, with works by Chagall, De Pisis, Guttuso, Goya, Maccari, Mafai, Matisse, Morandi, Kokoschka, Rosai, Sironi and Vespignani.

Back to Bellaria, while the sun sets between the hills, a last tasting of the Romagna delicacies awaits us at Trattoria da Bruno, with fresh pasta and typical specialties.
