Weekend of … wine

Weekend of … wine

From Cesena to Santarcangelo, Romagna in a glass

Tour of tastings of the Romagna wine, directly among the vineyards that produce them and the cellars that bottle them. Three days, five stops between Cesena, Santarcangelo and San Clemente, between discovery and tastings, to taste the very good fruits of a generous land.
Cesena and the hinterland

Start from Bellaria to reach Cesena and the Biblioteca Malatestiana, the most ancient civic library in Europe, unique for state of conservation and the quiet and solemn atmosphere of its room. Little far away stands the Rocca Malatestiana, whose impressive mass dominates the city from above. After a morning downtown, it suffices to reach the hilly hinterland to meet with Farm La Quiete del Rio, where to take part in the theme labs with the seasonal works.

Santarcangelo and Verucchio

Stop in Santarcangelo di Romagna, where the manor and cellar of Collina dei Poeti offers a delightful view of the ancient rural life, and, of course, excellent wine tastings. The city center of Santarcangelo gives you very pleasant walks and the discovery of some charming places – such as Stamperia Marchi, on duty since the 17th century. The day closes beautifully with the tastings at Tenuta Amalia of Villa Verucchio, which includes two restaurants and the prestigious Cantina della Gea.

San Clemente and Montecolombo

Wine experience at Tenuta Mara of San Clemente, with pathway of discovery of the origins of wine and tasting of the end product. Then, promenade across the small center and to Castelleale, one of the last fortress/farms inherited from the Malatesta era. Lunch at Osteria Battibecco and then, in the nearby Montecolombo, a last immersion into wine at Azienda Agricola Fiammetta. On the way back, in Coriano, the Museo del Sic, dedicated to the memory of motorcyclist Marco Simoncelli, is worth a visit.
